12 pieces large prawns
vegetable oil for deep-frying
Batter:
1 egg, beaten well
2 tablespoons cold water
1/4 cup cornstarch
salt and pepper to taste
Sweet and Sour Sauce:
1/2 cup catsup
1/3 cup honey
1/8 teaspoon chili pepper (optional)
Mix and simmer in a small saucepan for 2-3 minutes or until well blended. Set aside.

Shrimp Tempura

Remove shrimps from shell but leave tail intact. Devein. Make crosswise slit on inner side of shrimps, so it would not curl when cooked. Season with salt and calamansi juice. Set aside.

1/2 cup water
1 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
