Homeless Pinoy Team Snubbed by Philippine Consulate in Italy?

I just read this piece from the Manila Bulletin about RP's post (calling on Philippine Consulate officers in Italy ...) in Italy snubbing a contingent of Filipino players who were officially entered into the 7th Homeless World Cup (Milan, Italy).

Why? Did they perhaps mistook homeless Pinoy to be the equivalent of TNT (tago ng tago or illegal immigrant)? But even if thqat were the case, embassies and consulate offices of the Philippines around the whole are bound to help their nationals...

Are Filipino Employers/Philippine Jobs Discriminative?

I came home for a visit to the Philippines and while here I thought to check job boards and classifieds to see what the local employment environment is like these days.

There's a lot of IT work, mostly in software and hardware programs, a ton of call centre jobs both in Metro Manila and Cebu despite the cutback in US client spending; there's also more and more translation and English language tutoring work available which was not quite as prevalent over five years ago.

Ang Tabo - The Washing Bowl

Filipinos reading this would know what I'm talking about in a heartbeat. For other nationalities, this may just be the answer to lingering questions after you've visited with a Filipino family and used their bath or powder room.


Typically, the tabo looks like this:





But it can very well be any kind of bowl if such a specialized container cannot be found. They usually rest on top, next to or conspicuously hiding behind the toilet seat.
